Savinelli Balsa System pipe filters highly absorbent. The Savinelli Balsa filter is a filtration system that uses the natural properties of balsa wood. It allows the absorption of moisture and impurities from the smoke, without the addition of chemical elements, ensuring a clean smoking. This absorption capacity is due to the highly porous fibers of the balsa, without altering the taste and aroma of the tobacco. This patented filtration system has been tested by both EURATOM Research Center of Ispra and CHEMICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY Inc. Research Center (USA) with approximately the same results: "..the Balsa filter has the ability to absorb 77% of nicotine and 91% of tar contained in tobacco without altering the taste of the same".
